Royce Mendes, managing director and head of macro strategy for Desjardins Group, talks with Financial Post’s Larysa Harapyn about what the Bank of Canada‘s latest interest rate decision means for Canadians. “What the Bank of Canada told Canadians today is that rate cuts are not that far off in the distant future,” Mendes says. The central bank held interest rates at five per cent for the sixth consecutive time on Wednesday.
